India Yoga Retreat

Co-Host

Bringing your retreat to India, together

India has been part of my life for more than a decade.

Since 2018, I have also been hosting and co-hosting group journeys to India, bringing groups together for experiences centred around Yoga, spirituality, practice and exploration.

Today, I offer this experience to teachers, retreat leaders and agencies who are bringing their own groups to India and would like someone alongside them who already knows the country from the inside.

Bringing a group to India?

I can co-host the journey with you

You may already have your group, your retreat concept and the places you want to visit. What you may not have is someone who knows how things work once you arrive.

I can join you as a co-host and India-side partner, helping with local coordination, communication, practical arrangements and the many small things that make a group journey run smoothly.

You remain the retreat leader. I bring my experience of India, my Yoga practice and teaching, my local connections and my ability to host people on the ground.

Why co-host with me?

Ten years of lived experience

I have spent around ten years living in India, rather than simply travelling here as a visitor. I know how to approach, the practicalities and many of the cultural nuances that can be really difficult to navigate when you are organising a group from abroad, especially for the first time.

Yoga is part of my life

My relationship with India began through Yoga and has remained deeply connected to my practice and teaching. Depending on the journey, I can also contribute Yoga, meditation, pranayama or chanting mantras on harmonium as part of the retreat experience.

Experience with groups

I began bringing groups to India in 2018 and have since hosted and co-hosted several group spiritual journeys in Northern India. I understand that travelling with a group is very different from travelling alone: there are many small things to anticipate, communicate and coordinate along the way.

I know how to host people

One of my strengths is bringing people together and making them feel comfortable in unfamiliar environments. I enjoy showing people around, introducing them to places and helping them feel looked after without making the experience feel overly managed.

I know how to communicate with people, anticipate needs, solve problems and keep many moving parts connected.

I can navigate beyond English

I speak basic Hindi and understand Hindi considerably better than I speak it. I can communicate, manage practical situations and navigate everyday interactions in ways that are much easier when you already know the country.

Local connections

I also have trusted local connections in India who can help with transportation, accommodation, activities, logistics and other practical aspects of the journey.

Local relationships often mean being able to communicate directly, understand what is reasonable and negotiate according to local rates rather than approaching everything as a foreign visitor.

What can I bring

to the journey?

Co-hosting the group
Being present throughout the journey and helping the group navigate the experience.

Local coordination
Communicating with drivers, accommodation providers and local contacts.

Cultural orientation
Helping participants experience India beyond a typical tourist itinerary.

Yoga & practice
Offering Yoga, meditation, breathwork or reflective practices where appropriate.

Group hosting
Welcoming participants and helping them feel comfortable and looked after.

Problem-solving
Knowing how to respond when plans change or something unexpected happens.

Places I have travelled in India

We can create

the journey together

You don’t have to hand your retreat over to someone else.

You may already know what you want to offer your group, where you want to take them and what kind of experience you want to create or you might need my support in creating it.

My role is to come alongside you and help make it possible.

We can work together before the journey to understand what you need, connect with local people and services, and think through the practical side. I can join you in India as a co-host, helping the journey unfold once you are there.

Your vision. Your group. Your retreat. With someone who knows India.

Looking for someone

to organise everything?

If you are not looking for a co-host, but instead need someone in India to handle the local organisation of your retreat or journey, I can also connect you with trusted local support.

For full local travel and retreat organisation, I recommend The Wild Path, who can assist with the practical side of creating and coordinating a journey in India.

My role is different: I come alongside you as a co-host and take part in the journey itself.

About Yoli Amritaé

My life in India

India has been part of my life for more than a decade. I first came here through Yoga, and Rishikesh became a place I called home.

Living in India is very different from travelling through India. Over the years, I have lived as a local, practiced Yoga, taught, travelled extensively, built friendships and local connections, learned to navigate the everyday realities of life here.

I speak basic Hindi and understand Hindi better than I speak it. I know the practical side of being in India as a foreigner, while also having enough experience of life here to understand many things that are not immediately visible to someone arriving for the first time.

To a retreat journey I bring more than knowledge about India, but lived experience of being here. I know what it is like to arrive as a foreigner and I know how much richer a journey can become when someone is there who already has a relationship with the place.

Let's bring your journey to India

Are you a Yoga teacher, retreat leader or agency planning to bring a group to India? Tell me a little about your group, your vision and when you are planning to travel. We can explore whether we can work together.
