Adam and Eve were two divine children

Adam and Eve were two divine children, innocent and pure, like any child. And they were eternal. And the place where they lived was not called Earth, but Eden.

They didn’t have a mother and a father, but the most wonderful parent possible — one who protected them and guided them when they asked, but never imposed anything from His own little mind, instead always overwhelming them with love. This parent was always there, unseen, yet he answered them every time, full of love.

They grew up alongside insects and tiny creatures and other little souls of nature, learning to offer care, help, and gentleness. Everything was perfection and there was no such thing as mistake, nor good or bad. Their home was nature, and their only “job” was to feel and to enjoy all the wonders of life. Every moment was sacred and overwhelming. Every drop of dew, every sunrise. And nature held them in a continuous state of love, and their love made nature bear fruit and blossom and support them. Under their touch, flowers would bloom, and living beings would almost giggle.

When they grew, Adam and Eve continued to melt into love for everything around them — and in this way, for each other. They loved each other with curiosity, with all their senses. And every touch was sacred. They were no longer Adam and Eve — they were anyone and no one, one with everything.

And all the angels and all the unseen beings watched them, in awe, longing for such experiences — the kind only a human being has the chance to feel on Earth.

When Eve bit into the apple, she felt something in her body.

Something had happened, but she didn’t understand what.

On her way to Adam, thoughts began to appear.

Suddenly, she felt something strange, heavy — something that no longer allowed her to feel everything, something that disconnected her from nature. That is how she discovered separation.

Then she thought that maybe she didn’t feel right being naked… What would the creatures and Adam think and say about her?! So she covered herself. And that is how she discovered shame.

Then she thought that maybe she deserved more than what Adam could offer her.

As she was getting closer, she thought that surely Adam didn’t love her anymore, that he had probably grown tired of her!! That is how she discovered distrust.

She passed by a squirrel whose tail had gotten stuck in a branch, but Eve was so caught in her thoughts that she didn’t even see it. Maybe if her nose were smaller… her breasts bigger… If she pursed her lips a little… What if she wasn’t enough?! For the first time, she felt something unpleasant in her stomach, like a tightening. That is how she discovered fear.

She walked past flowers, and the flowers were waiting for her touch — but they didn’t receive it… And so she thought to ask the Parent why Adam no longer loved her…

…but she received no answer to her silly question, and so, upset, she concluded that she had been abandoned and that there was no Parent at all.

Eventually, Eve reached Adam…

And today, there is only one Eve — the same Eve — and only one Adam — the same Adam, with countless faces and names.
